To date applications have been the blind spot of cyber security with the focus being on securing the perimeter. With more than 80% of attacks now happening at the application layer, a new category of security called Runtime Application Self Protection, or RASP, was identified by Gartner in 2012 as a ‘Must Have Emerging Technology’. In the Gartner Hype Cycle for Application Security 2015 RASP was the only technology that earned Transformational ranking.
